Working Principle

The valve operates on a direct-acting principle: inlet steam pressure acts on the underside of the valve disc, while an adjustable spring load on the top side sets the desired downstream pressure. When downstream pressure rises above the set point, the diaphragm compresses the spring, gradually closing the valve to reduce flow. Conversely, when downstream pressure drops, the spring expands, opening the valve to restore the set pressure. This self-regulating cycle maintains a stable outlet pressure without requiring external power or auxiliary control systems.
