Structure characteristics

1. Equipped with built‑in steam insulation chamber, less affected by ambient temperature, reduces frequent cycling and prolongs service life.

2. Simple and compact structure, small footprint, convenient for installation and on‑site maintenance.

3. Excellent resistance to water‑hammer, suitable for high‑temperature and high‑pressure steam conditions.

4. Built‑in strainer blocks pipeline debris and prevents valve disc from jamming.

5. Fast response action, effective condensate discharge with minimum steam loss.

6. Wide applicable pressure range, stable performance under fluctuating steam pressure.

7. Easy maintenance: only the wearing disc component needs replacement.

Working principle

This thermodynamic steam trap works based on velocity‑pressure difference between condensate and steam.

When cold condensate and air flow into the trap, the valve disc is lifted open, and condensate is quickly discharged.

When high‑speed live steam enters, venturi effect creates low‑pressure under the disc. Combined with pressure inside the upper control chamber, the disc is pressed tightly against seat to close the outlet and avoid steam leakage.

The unique insulation chamber stabilizes pressure inside control chamber, minimizing unwanted chattering caused by external temperature variation.

As condensate accumulates again, internal pressure balance changes. The disc lifts again and condensate is discharged. This cycle repeats automatically.

Main application

This thermodynamic steam trap is widely used for steam distribution pipelines, heat exchangers, process heating equipment and steam tracing systems.

It removes condensate from steam systems, cuts steam waste, reduces energy consumption and protects equipment against water‑hammer damage, ensuring reliable operation of steam‑utilizing facilities.

Thermodynamic steam trap features compact build, water‑hammer resistance and broad pressure adaptability. It is a common solution for discharging steam condensate in general industry.

Limitations

– Intermittent condensate discharge (non‑continuous draining)

– Performance will degrade when back‑pressure is excessively high

– Not recommended for extremely low condensate load conditions
